Destination Pre Wedding Photography in the Dubai Desert

Nimesh and Rakhee’s Dubai destination Indian wedding took place over an amazing week and we kicked off this incredible adventure with a pre wedding shoot in the desert dunes of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates before the amazing Hindu wedding in the Palm Sofitel Hotel which you can check out here.

We were staying in the stunning Sofitel Palm Resort and Spa on Palm Jumairah and looking around the island and the city of Dubai it is quite easy to forget that most of the landscape is actually desert and filled with incredible landscapes. We took 4x4 jeeps out into the desert and had the most amazing time dune blasting in the 4x4 to get to the sand dunes and our driver did not disappoint us by finding some great spots for this pre wedding shoot.

Nimesh and Rakhee are such a great couple and I had got to know them photographing the civil wedding ceremony which took place in Newland Manor in Buckinghamshire so I knew exactly how much fun they were to work with and we had such a great time over the course of the week.

We spend the late part of the afternoon high in the dunes and having fun in the sand as well as destroying one of the 4x4’s tyres. We then headed back to Palm Jumairah and the Sofitel Palm for Nimesh and Rakhee’s VIP villa party to welcome all of the guests that had flown over from the UK and around the world for this magical wedding.

Here are a few images from this destination pre wedding photoshoot in the Dubai Desert. You can check out the civil wedding ceremony at Newland Manor here and the Hindu Mehndi and destination Sangeet wedding photography in dubai here.

Planning a Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in Dubai: A Practical Guide

Dubai is a great choice for couples wanting to capture a unique pre-wedding photoshoot. With its blend of modern architecture, vast deserts, and picturesque beaches, it offers endless opportunities for stunning images. Here's how to get started on planning your shoot:

Best Time for Your Shoot

Dubai's climate is something to consider. To avoid the heat, plan your photoshoot from October to April. Early morning or late afternoon times are ideal for softer, more flattering lighting.

Top Locations in Dubai for Your Photoshoot

When it comes to choosing locations, Dubai doesn't disappoint. Here are some of the best spots:

  • The Dubai Desert: For a striking backdrop, the vastness of the Dubai desert is hard to beat. The sand dunes create a minimalist, yet dramatic setting.

  • Burj Khalifa and Downtown Dubai: The towering Burj Khalifa and the surrounding skyscrapers offer a modern and glamorous setting.

  • JBR Beach and Dubai Marina: For a relaxed, beachy vibe, the Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) area and Dubai Marina provide beautiful sea views and a glimpse of Dubai's upscale lifestyle.

  • Al Bastakiya (Old Dubai): For a touch of Dubai's history and culture, the Al Bastakiya district, with its traditional wind-tower architecture, offers a unique contrast to the city's modernity.

  • Miracle Garden: For a colourful, floral backdrop, the Dubai Miracle Garden is unbeatable, with its extravagant displays and arrangements.

What to Wear

Choose outfits that match Dubai's opulent setting. Comfort is key, especially if you're planning to shoot in the desert or by the beach. Traditional outfits or elegant evening wear can work well, depending on the location.

Permissions and Planning

Some locations in Dubai require permission for photoshoots, so it's essential to check this in advance. Also, think about transportation and logistics, especially for more remote spots like the desert.

Personalize Your Shoot

Adding personal elements to your photoshoot can make it more meaningful. Whether it's a particular theme, props, or including a hobby you both share, these details can make your photos unique.
