Pune Wedding Photography in India | Tom and Vanita's Wedding Part 3

I tried my best to play it cool but it's not something I'm particularly good at when I get excited at and I'm sure Vanita and Tom could see the excitement on my face building as the details of their plans were slowly unveiled to me over our Skype meeting. 'An elephant'! I gasped, giving up on any hope of professional casualness about my tone 'This is going to be AMAZING'!

As an international wedding photographer, I've photographed some pretty amazing venues and some really stunning weddings, but when Vanita mentioned that Tom would be arriving at their Indian wedding ceremony in Pune on an elephant, I was stunned. It's not something that I have ever heard from any of my couples, and it was impossible to be cool about it.

The destination wedding ceremony itself took place on the last day of this 3-day wedding and was held at Punyadham Ashram at Kondhwa in Pune. It started with the Groom's Sehrabandi, where the turbans of all the men are tied, and then followed by the Haathi chadna (getting on the elephant). The Baraat procession to the ceremony was spectacular and included all of Tom's family and friends who had made the trip to India from the UK.

Here are a few images from this crazy but beautiful day.
