The Top 10 UK Wedding Photographers 2011
As a UK wedding photographer, I spend a lot of time browsing through other professional wedding photographer’s websites to check out the standard of the competition and I find myself going back to the same sites over and over again. These are the wedding photographers that stand out from the crowd and really seem to bring something different to the industry. I thought I would bring together a list of the Top 10 Wedding Photographers from the UK from another Wedding Photographers perspective.
Selecting The Best Wedding
The Best Photographers in the UK
The UK Wedding Photographers that made the top 10 list were chosen by myself only. I am a Kent and London Wedding Photographer and I consider myself someone who is up and coming in the industry. For this reason, many of my selections are those photographers who I also consider up and coming – the wedding photographers that have a fresh and exciting attitude to great wedding photographs. There’s also some of the big ‘award winning’ names in there too.
Next month I will be looking at the top 10 wedding photographers in the World so check back for some amazing and talented photographers from around the world.
Remember, art is subjective and the names on this list are my opinion only but I would be interested to hear about any suggestions for a possible top 20 list.
The Best British Wedding Photographers | Top 10
In no particular order, here’s my personal opinion on the current top 10 UK Wedding Photographers:
Steve Gerrard – Birmingham Based Wedding Photographer with a cool, fun and fresh style.
Lisa Aldersley – Cheshire Based Wedding Photographer with breathtaking images.
Jeff Ascough – Lancashire Based and possibly the best ‘available light’ wedding photographers in the world…actually just one of the top wedding photographers in the world full stop.
Crash Taylor – Nottingham Based Wedding Photography which is pure art – Crashes images blow me away each visit.
Chris Hanley – Manchester based Wedding Photographer. Beautiful images and ‘Cherish the Dress’ creator.
Jodie Chapman – I love reading Jodie’s Blog and her Wedding Photography is crisp and consistently quirky!
Matt Tyler – A true wedding photojournalist from Kent and some of the best composed wedding photography I’ve ever seen.
David Pullum – Devon Based Photographer who consistently makes the UK’s top 10.
Ryan Browne – International award winning photographer who’s images seem to all scream out with style.
David Jones – I’m not sure if it’s his choice of music on the site but there’s a really happy vibe from all David’s photographs and that really seems to be the point to the whole wedding photography industry…to capture the happiness!
That’s my top 10 UK Wedding photographers for 2011 people. Let me know if you agree/disagree and who should/shouldn’t have made the list.

Nick, thanks for putting me on your list and in celebrated company. Flattered
Wow… Impressive list and keyword pool, thought I would post a comment and get some of your keyword google juice
You’re welcome Chris. Well deserved!
interesting reading, cheers
There’s a few names on there I wasnt aware of so thanks for the heads up
I agree with most of them Nick, I wouldn’t want to say who I would take out but I would suggest that Liam Crawley at CG Weddings based in Chester needs to be in there. I trained with him so I may be a little biased but the mans still an inspiration to me and finds amazing images from out of nowhere, check him out.
I agree that their work is great but I wanted to mix it up between the seasoned pros and some fresh talent.
Some favourite names there – and I have some new sites to explore now. Great to see a list by a photographer, about photographers. Love it.

Thanks for the add Nick. Always good to be acknowledged, especially from further afield. Keep up the good work !
Great article, def my favourite photographers on there too, would be interested to read your internationals list , perhaps another post?
Well balanced list with some great new sites to add to my google reader! Thanks!
The names never seem to change that often, would be nice if someone did an ‘up and coming’ wedding photographers list that show possible potential to be on the top 10 list.
Interesting top ten. Would you mind sharing how you compiled the list? What exactly makes a photographer one of the top ten?

Brilliant list Nick
Nice work. Not familar with some of the names but will be very soon.
Awesome list. I’ve followed David Pullum’s work long before I got into wedding photography. Heard of Crash Taylor but none of the others. Thanks for putting those names on my radar. True masters of their art..
It’s good to see a wedding photographer’s list done by a wedding photographer! I am starting to think I might create similar list sometime. Two or three names of your list would definitely make mine as well!!
I look forward to seeing yours – Let me know if I manage to make your top 10!
Thanks – Nick
I thought you’d say that Crash! Thanks!
Check my recent post which offers a bit of an explanation.
Nick
Great list!
Some new names I was unaware of, and also some classics!
A nice list and good to be alerted to some photographers I wasn’t aware of.
Can I suggest a photographer for your Worldwide Top Ten? A colleague from Sweden with a great portfolio, mostly available light and all the more impressive for bucking the Swedish trend of avoiding photojournalism in favour of long portrait sessions.

Some familiar names and new ones as well, nice little diversion to my lunchtime browsing!
