Hampton Court Palace Wedding Celebration at the Little Banqueting House
The Little Banqueting House at Hampton Court Palace provided the perfect setting for Winky and Eddie’s beautiful summer wedding. This intimate venue, with its stunning riverside location and access to the palace's spectacular grounds, offered an elegant backdrop for a celebration filled with joy and personal touches.
The day began with preparations at The Mitre before the couple made their way to Hampton Court Palace for a Chinese tea ceremony before their Little Banqueting House civil wedding ceremony. This was followed by some beautiful wedding photographs in the palace grounds. The intimate celebration continued at the stunning Garden room for a sunset wedding reception.
Here are a few images from this lovely summer wedding at Hampton Court Palace.

About the Venue
Hampton Court Palace is a unique and stunning wedding venue filled with history and elegance. Located in the idyllic area of Richmond upon Thames, the palace offers a romantic backdrop for almost any type of wedding event.
The venue boasts a number of incredible spaces which are suitable for different styles and sizes of weddings, including the Great Hall, Little Banqueting House and Garden Room.
The Little Banqueting House
For a more intimate setting, the Little Banqueting House offers unrivalled views of the palace's formal gardens and the picturesque Thames riverside. It can accommodate up to 50 people for a sit-down meal and is the perfect place for a more secluded wedding ceremony or reception. The room's large windows frame the lush greenery and flowing river, creating a serene atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate.
The Garden Room
One of the most enchanting spaces at Hampton Court Palace is the Garden Room. Bathed in natural light and offering scenic views of the manicured garden, it's an exquisite venue for wedding receptions. The Garden Room, with its capacity for up to 150 seated guests, also boasts a private walled garden - an ideal location for memorable photographs and a beautiful spot for a summer drinks reception.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall, famous for its grandeur and Tudor charm, is another setting available at the Palace. It was once the heart of Henry VIII's court and remains a magnificent setting for larger weddings. Its richly decorated wooden arches, hanging tapestries and vast medieval windows provide a feast for the eyes. With its capacity to accommodate up to 220 guests for a banquet, the Great Hall ensures an unforgettable wedding reception.
Photographic Locations at Hampton Court Palace
Couples choosing Hampton Court Palace as their wedding venue will also have access to the expertise of the amazing events team at the Palace. It's always a pleasure to work with them and see the incredible attention to detail that they put into every wedding.
Hampton Court is full of amazing locations for couple photographs and whichever event space you're using, you'll have access to the full grounds of the palace for your wedding photographs. Here are a few of my favourite places for photographs:
The Great Fountain Garden - This setting never ceases to amaze me. The sprawling green landscape paired with the palace's facade in the background offers a grand setting that's nothing short of royal. The evening light here creates a dreamy atmosphere, perfect for those timeless, romantic shots.
The Privy Garden - This hidden gem is an oasis of tranquillity. With immaculate flowerbeds and sculpted hedges, it provides a serene and intimate setting for close, emotional moments. The greenery provides a lush, textured frame that can add depth and character to your photographs.
The Banqueting House - For photos that scream sophistication and elegance, the Banqueting House is the place. The intricate ceiling frescoes and abundant natural light make it ideal for capturing the exquisite details of the wedding attire. This spot is particularly good for capturing the bride's solo shots.
The King's Staircase - As you ascend the King's Staircase, you'll be transported back in time. The ornate murals and golden details are nothing short of awe-inspiring. It's a breathtaking backdrop that captures the historical charm of Hampton Court Palace. A shot from the bottom looking up, with the couple at the top, is one of my favourites.
The Courtyard - The palace's courtyard, with its stunning architecture and charming cobblestones, offers a splendid setting. Capturing the couple walking hand-in-hand across the courtyard, surrounded by centuries-old walls, is a classic shot that tells a story of timeless love.
The East Front - The East Front of the palace, with its distinctive Baroque style, presents an imposing and magnificent backdrop. The symmetrical design and the grand front entrance give your photos an essence of grandeur and drama.
The Palace Gardens - The gardens at Hampton Court Palace are simply splendid. The area around the Palm House is particularly vibrant and colourful, making it a great spot for more relaxed, candid shots. The contrast between the lush greenery and the elegant architecture is stunning.
