Pre Wedding Photography Paris

Paris Pre Wedding Photography in France

I love working with so many international couples and pre wedding photography is always so much fun! Edward and Rachel flew over from Hong Kong for their pre wedding photography session and I was lucky enough to work with them in Paris and London to capture their engagement photographs as well as flying over to Hong Kong to tell their amazing wedding day story.

Paris is such an amazing place for a pre wedding engagement session and even one of the wettest days of the summer did not stop us having an amazing time. We started the day at the jardins du trocadéro which has amazing views over the iconic  Eiffel Tower before crossing the Seine river and moving down towards Notre-Dame de Paris and spending some time along the river and the lock bridges where thousands of couples put their initials on locks and lock them to the bridge. We ended the day at the Pompidou Centre and the Louvre which was the perfect location to end this Paris pre wedding session.

Here are a few images from this beautiful engagement session in Paris. You can check out their incredible Hong Kong wedding photography here

Paris Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Guide: Best Locations and Essential Tips

Paris, fondly known as the 'City of Love,' provides an unbeatable backdrop for pre-wedding photography. Its enchanting blend of iconic landmarks, romantic atmosphere, and vintage charm promises a photoshoot straight out of a fairy tale. Here are my top five spots for pre-wedding photography in Paris and tips to ensure you make the most of your Paris pre wedding shoot.

  • Jardins du Trocadéro:

Overlooking the Eiffel Tower, Jardins du Trocadéro presents an impressive location for your pre-wedding shoot. The sprawling gardens are adorned with beautiful fountains, statues, and flowerbeds, offering a variety of picturesque spots for capturing unforgettable shots. The best time for a photoshoot here is early morning when the sun rises over the Eiffel Tower, illuminating the Trocadéro Gardens with a warm, soft glow. Don't forget to capture a few shots by the Warsaw Fountain, where the Eiffel Tower reflection dances on the water.

  • Eiffel Tower:

No list of Parisian photoshoot locations would be complete without the Eiffel Tower. Consider capturing your pre-wedding photos at the foot of the Tower, in the surrounding Champ de Mars gardens, or from a distance to incorporate the entire tower into your frame. The golden hour (just after sunrise or before sunset) is the perfect time to capture dramatic shots with the Eiffel Tower, creating silhouettes and stunning contrasts.

  • Seine River:

The Seine River is another popular pre-wedding photography spot in Paris. The riverbanks, bridges, and charming bookstalls that line the Seine offer a charming backdrop. Consider a sunset cruise or early morning shoot to avoid the crowds and catch the ethereal beauty of the sun reflecting off the river. The Pont Alexandre III bridge is a popular spot for couples, with its intricate lampposts and sculptures offering unique compositions.

  • Notre-Dame de Paris:

The Notre-Dame Cathedral, even after the devastating 2019 fire, remains a compelling spot for pre-wedding shoots. The iconic Gothic architecture, stained glass windows, and historical charm give a classic touch to your pictures. Remember to respect the sanctity of the place, keeping in mind it's not just a photoshoot location, but also a place of worship.

  • Centre Pompidou and the Louvre:

Both the Centre Pompidou and the Louvre Museum offer distinct architectural contrasts for a unique pre-wedding photoshoot. The avant-garde structure of the Centre Pompidou provides a modern, vibrant background for more unconventional photos.

The Louvre, on the other hand, with its glass pyramid and historic French Renaissance architecture, embodies a timeless elegance. Capturing reflections in the pyramid or shooting in the Cour Carrée (the square courtyard) can give your photos a sense of depth and grandeur.
