Wedding Photography at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in London

Sikh Wedding Photography in London at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara

Following a stunning few days for Mandev and Sasha's incredible Civil wedding ceremony at The Dairy in Waddesdon Manor and their amazingly colourful Sangeet and Mehndi at the Montcalm in London, the Sikh wedding ceremony took place on another beautifully sunny day in London at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Southall.

The day began with the couple getting ready at their family homes and Sasha was helped by her sister, mother and lovely grandmother. Mandev's family helped him with a beautiful turban tying ceremony at home before they both made their way to the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara for their Sikh Wedding ceremony.

Karishma Manwani from 'Wed Me In' planned the day to perfection and the day flowed really well. David Garcia at Zenith Cinematography provided videography and it is always great to work with suppliers that you get on so well with. The talented Sarah Pipkin helped out as my second photographer.

Here are a few images from this beautiful Sikh wedding at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Southall London.

Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara boasts multiple halls of varying sizes, accommodating everything from smaller, more intimate gatherings to larger, lavish celebrations. The main hall can host a considerable number of guests, ensuring that no matter the scale of your wedding, the Gurdwara can cater to your needs. The spacious, well-maintained premises also include ample room for dining and socialising, making it an ideal choice for both the ceremony and the reception.

The Gurdwara’s Unique Charm

Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara is celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere, intricate details, and spacious halls that can accommodate large gatherings without compromising the intimacy and sanctity of a Sikh wedding ceremony or Anand Karaj. The presence of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, the holy scripture of Sikhism, adds a divine dimension to the nuptials, ensuring that your wedding is not only a union of two hearts but also a spiritually uplifting experience.

The Ceremony at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara

The Anand Karaj ceremony at Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara is a profound and moving event, consisting of four laavan (rounds) around the Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Each round signifies a stage in the journey of the souls towards unity with the divine. The Gurdwara's serene and sacred ambiance provides a perfect backdrop for these moments, promising a ceremony filled with emotion and spirituality.

Tips for a Memorable Gurdwara Wedding

  • Respect the Traditions: Ensure that all guests are aware of the Gurdwara’s traditions, such as covering the head, removing shoes before entering the prayer hall, and observing the decorum suitable for a place of worship.

  • Plan for the Day: Sikh weddings typically start early in the day. Consider arranging transportation and accommodations to facilitate a smooth experience for your guests.

  • Capture Every Moment: From the morning preparations to the final farewell, each moment is precious. Discuss with your photographer about capturing the day’s journey, ensuring no moment is missed.
