Glencoe Pre Wedding Photography Scotland

Pre Wedding Photography at Glencoe Scotland

I have been lucky enough to work with couples for pre wedding photography all around the world but love capturing pre wedding photographs here in the UK and my favourite place in the whole of the United Kingdom is Glencoe in the Scottish highlands..

Glencoe is an amazingly beautiful location and when Constance contacted me with the idea of having a pre wedding photography session in Scotland then this scenic location was the first place that I suggested.

I spent the day with Linc and Constance travelling around Glencoe, Fort William and the surrounding area finding great locations and having lots of fun. The couple were so great to work with and were always up for climbing and jumping to get to those more adventurous spots and the locations really suited their adventurous personalities.

Linc really embraced the Scottish culture and wore a traditional Scottish kilt for the shoot to go alongside Constance in her wedding dress which really complemented the landscapes in the highlands.

Here are a few images from this Scottish highlands pre wedding photoshoot in Glencoe. You can also see more pre wedding photography in Glencoe Scotland here.

About Glencoe. Glencoe is located in the north of Argyll in the Scottish Highlands and is surrounded by mountains that are often snowcapped. It is widely regarded as the most spectacular and beautiful places in the whole of Scotland and was recently voted as the most romantic Scottish Glen. Glencoe is easily accessible from Glasgow, and the drive from Glasgow takes you north through the Loch Lomond and Tossachs national park which is an amazingly scenic national park. Planning Your Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in Glencoe

Choosing the Right Time of Year

  • Summer offers longer days and milder weather, ideal for exploring and for amazing sunset images.

  • Autumn brings dramatic colours and cooler weather, creating a stunning visual contrast with the landscape.

  • Winter and spring offer snow-capped mountains and crisp air, though accessibility can be challenging due to weather conditions.

Logistics

  • Travel and Accommodation: Glencoe is accessible by car, and staying nearby will give you flexibility for early morning or late evening shoots to capture the best light.

  • Permits: While many areas in Glencoe are accessible without permits, always check the latest guidelines or with your photographer.

What to Wear

  • Choose outfits that contrast with the natural environment for a striking effect. Long, flowing dresses can add movement and depth to your images.

  • Wear comfortable shoes for walking between shoot locations, and consider bringing a change of clothes.

Weather Considerations

  • Glencoe's weather can change rapidly; be prepared with waterproof clothing and umbrellas.

  • Embrace the weather! Overcast skies can create dramatic backdrops, and mist adds a mystical feel to the landscape.

Respecting the Landscape
